Pay It Forward
Arthur Ashe once said, “From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life.” This philosophy is one that the team here at Springboard fully believes in.
In the world of public relations, success is often measured by how many articles we help generate, or the number of interviews we can schedule. These are tactical metrics. Helping clients amplify their message, convey their brand, and expand their addressable market are more strategic in scope, but often tricky to measure.
Because we mostly work behind the scenes, our gratification comes from knowing that we have helped clients achieve their goals – either tactical or strategic.
While we appreciate the professional satisfaction, it is personally gratifying to give back to the community and utilize our skills to lend a helping hand to others.
Giving back is an important aspect of our work here at Springboard and we have supported many events. We recently offered our public relations services to assist with a walkathon to a local 7-year-old girl who was diagnosed with leukemia two years ago. Working with the coordinators of the event, we helped spread the word by reaching out to the media and developing several collateral pieces.
Hundreds of walkers participated in the event and over 20 local businesses provided sponsorships through monetary donations and raffle prizes. The event raised more than $12,000 for the young girl and her family, all of which will go towards medical expenses.
Paying it forward – gestures big and small – are an important part of life, especially when it can help others in time of need. We are appreciative of the opportunity to help support this walkathon, and wish this young girl and her family the best.
