The past few weeks have been brutal for many people impacted by Superstorm Sandy.
Based near the Jersey Shore, many of our friends, family and clients have experienced significant loss with respect to their homes, cars, personal property and business.
In the wake of adversity, I believe people show their true colors. You either rise up or endure the wrath of uncertainty. With respect to the plight of the Garden State, many have stepped up to volunteer, donate food and clothing, and start fundraisers such as Restore the Shore and Heal Hoboken, two initiatives we are supporting.
New Jersey companies such Synchronoss (a client) are doing their part as well. The “Synchronoss Cares“ program aims to raise money and volunteers to support four local charities. Additionally, events like “10th Avenue Freeze Out” and Restore the Shore at The Downtown will provide resources to the coastal towns of Belmar and Sea Bright respectively.
It is ironic how a storm, although so devastating, can bring out the best in people, organizations and even government (politics aside).
New Jersey is picking up the pieces and beginning to rebuild. While it might be arduous and take a long time, based on the outpouring of support throughout the state, I believe “Jersey Strong” will emerge stronger than ever.
