It’s that time of the year again! Super Bowl Sunday, the (unofficial) national holiday for football fans, is almost here. Although some things will be a little different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there is still an enormous amount of excitement surrounding the big game.
According to a survey from the National Retail Foundation, 186.6 million adults plan to watch the Kansas City Chiefs and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers go head-to-head in Super Bowl LV, albeit from the comfort and safety of their own homes. To protect the staff, fans, and teams on the big day, Raymond James Stadium will host the smallest attendance in Super Bowl history with 25,000 fans in the stands and 30,000 cardboard cutouts.
Whether you’re rooting for Patrick Mahomes or Tom Brady, one thing we can all agree on is it’s time to see some new, feel-good commercials. Here are a few that are worth looking out for:
Anheuser-Busch reminds us it’s not about the beer – it’s about who we share it with.
Indeed highlights the emotional process of applying for a new job.
Frito-Lay wishes us a happy Super Bowl with NFL legends bonding over chips.
Bud Light makes lemonade out of the “lemon” of a year that was 2020.
Michelob Ultra wants us to ask ourselves, “Are you happy because you win, or do you win because you’re happy?”
This year, the price for a 30-second ad is about $5.5 million. While some brands including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Budweiser, and Hyundai opted out of advertising during the Super Bowl to support COVID-19 vaccine awareness instead (kudos to them), there are still plenty of inspiring and entertaining commercials to look forward to. Be sure to let us know which one is your favorite!
